Barack Hussein Obama

"I get it. I realize that I am not the likeliest candidate for this office. I don't fit the typical pedigree, and I haven't spent my career in the halls of Washington. But I stand before you tonight because all across America something is stirring. What the naysayers don't understand is that this election has never been about me; it's about you."

I am inspired.

Now i'm not American, but i can't help feeling glad that Obama has been chosen. Maybe it's for the good of the world, not just the United States.

true that is an inspiring quote, i just feel unsafe living in a country ruled under a man with the middle name of hussein.
am i wrong for that?
this will be the longest time obama will have held a job...4 years.
i'm not hating, just stating the facts

Anonymous. To me, part of being American, is looking past people with different sounding names and different skin colours. Its an unfortunate coincidence but it has no reflection on Obama/

Hey, anonymous Hussein actually means good. I understand that Saddam Hussein was a terrible dictatator, but that has to do with him as a person not the name he happens to have.

And the comment about it being the longest he's held a job? It's just rude, he's the president now get over it.

Anyways, I'm inspired and excited, and just very very happy. Never been more excited for January pretty much ever.

Bt dubbs I tagged you =)

it aggravates me when people are so into obama because of his skin color. many people are like "i love him because he is black. this proves we can accomplish things" like ok, his skin color is not that big of a deal. he was raised by white grand parents anyways if that matters? he is going to represent the country, not just the people that share the same skin color as him. skin color does not play a role at all, so please stop acting like it does.

Anonymous: I'm not into Obama because of his skin colour. I didnt mention that anywhere in my post. In my comment here I said its good we can get past prejudice but thats not why I like him.
