wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door

Eleanor Rigby picks up the rice in
the church where a wedding has been
Lives in a dream
Waits at the window, wearing the face
that she keeps in a jar by the door
Who is it for?
All the lonely people
Where do they all come from?
All the lonely people
Where do they all belong?
-The Beatles

I grew up hearing my mom and dad absentmindedly singing Beatles songs. At school I am known by many boys as the Hippie. And so I couldnt help but buy the following dress from Libra Vintage.

Dress: Libra Vintage {ebay}
Bracelets: Target.
Blue tooth necklace: M&J Trimming in NYC
Fang necklace: Urban Outfitters
Elephant necklace: gift shop of Ostia Antica in Rome

awww. I love this post.

My 5th grade teacher made us watch "Yellow Submarine" in art class to get us inspired. We would make crazy paper mache creatures while listening to the beatles. And when the song "yellow submarine" came on we'd always change it so it was "purple jellybean".

I never thought of it then but I think thats what made me so "free spirited"?

I love the beatles, and my younger brother is obsessed with them! Their music is both timeless and inspirational. I've always thought that hippie-like clothing was cool, and I remember in fourth grade thinking it was so cool to dress up as a hippie for halloween. I can't pull off the hippie thing in real life, but you do it really well.

I linked you! I love the take-me-as-i-am hippie vibe. That dress is great, and i adore the way your pictures are always so arty.

favourite music group ever.
The first song I ever heard was Let It Be!!!!!!!
If you're looking for fashionable hippies, watch the musical Jesus Christ Super Star, it's so funny/killer.

I grew up influenced by all things hippie, since I live in San Francisco. And my dad plays the Beatles in the car religiously.

This is such a cute post. The dress is really vibrant too. I wasn't really a flowy 60's person. More like I hung out with my grandma like we were besties everyday and now Frank Sinatra and Billie Holiday can never be topped as my top male and female singers.

This was a great post! I'll probably end up looking back at it tomorrow just because I enjoyed it so much.

I have so much to say, but I'll just leave it at how great your outfit is! I love the dress print and necklaces!
Coincidentally, I'm listening to solo John Lennon right now. And I've always liked the more druggy hippie Beatles music better than the early young British men thing. Hmmm, what does that say about me? ;D

What a lovely outfit! I especially like the dress, the colours are so great. The Beatles will always be so inspiring... By the way, there's a concert by Paul McCartney coming up in my city, so I'm excited to hear the ex-Beatle! =)
