we are explorers

We are explorers spinning across ombred sand
Given the token of dusty pastel skies
Hands twirling and blocking the shadows
The shadows of fences that strain in soft sand
Undulating across the beaches length

We sleep easy after screaming from our hide and seek spots
And watching the great whales slip sadly beneath sheets of blue
Gather white blankets close and close our eyes

We wake up here and the world is a newborn baby
Bedroom curtains swaying in a silent dance
On and on the mechanical water rolls in and collapses then is pulled back
Sameness stretches on from the window

Our friends have a tiny green book that they call the Fire Island Flame in which each guest draw a little drawing or write a little note.

some notes

Remember Jessica Martin whom I interviewied way back when?

http://snazzyfashion.blogspot.com/2008/03/feathered-clip-and-flying-club.html

Here she is in an Armani fragrance commercial (the final girl to appear.)

For those of you who have been asking I use a Kodak Easy Share z712 and HP Photosmart Premiere to turn my photos b+w, antique, seppia, and add a posterized effect. My camera and editing software isn't super fancy as I honestly don't know that much about the technical aspects of photography. Next year I will be able to chose my art elective and I plan on doing a Photography Intro class where we will use Photoshop!

This Memorial Day weekend I shall be taking a trip to a friend's beach house on Fire Island with my family and pictures will be posted when I return.

ended up on a broken train with nobody i know

Took a right to the end of the line
Where no one ever goes.
Ended up on a broken train with nobody I know.
But the pain and the (longings) the same.
(Where the dying
Now I’m lost and I’m screaming for help.)
Relax, take it easy
For there is nothing that we can do.
Relax, take it easy
Blame it on me or blame it on you.
It’s as if I’m scared.
It’s as if I’m terrified.
It’s as if I scared.
It’s as if I’m playing with fire.
Scared.
It’s as if I’m terrified.
Are you scared?
Are we playing with fire?
Relax
There is an answer to the darkest times.

I went to New York city a bit ago for the Teen Vogue style swap. The clothes were not that great but I found one or two gems and had a chance encounter with Chloe from http://maskedinmascara.blogspot.com/
who was wearing a fabulous outfit (high waisted skirt, cool 'fro, printed tights, geometric wedges.) The freebies were cool though, lots of Redkin product and perfume.

just sitting in my secret place, dreaming my dreams

I had this urge to just dress up and take photos of myself among my favourite herb, anise, and by my old hideout in a bush.
It was quite fun actually and I made do with self timer as always. I wish I had a photographer robot.

I like reading cheesy books about secret pacts with fantastical illustrations such as "The Mysterious Benedict Society"

dress:H&M.
tights:Free People
Shoes:I forget.
Necklace:a gift from Madeleine

cause i love love you so...

If you don't eat yourself
No doubt the pain will instead
You could longer life
Seen it on that land ?
You went south on the train
She wore plastic boots for rain
And you crawl along exhausted
Who will I be when I'm with you again
Silver jet in the sky
You are the pain
Got a song, got to sing
For life
If you don't eat yourself
No doubt the pain will instead
If you don't eat yourself
You will explode instead
Cause i love love you so
When I know you don't love me
Get wicked, did it come
Who will I be when I'm with you again
Silver jet in the sky
You are the pain
Got a song, got to sing
For life

Le Voyage du Ballon Rouge

Le Voyage du Ballon Rouge. The Flight of the Red Balloon

Filmed artfully by Hou Hsiao-hsien.
Based on Albert Lamorisse's 1956 children's classic "The Red Balloon"
Starring Juliette Binoche
Fleeting, blurred, sad and happy as life this movie is one of the most beautiful I have seen. The film opens with a young angelic boy talking to a balloon, but there is no climax, no defenite end to the tale. And always throughout the film a red balloon follows like a ghost or pet or the memory of past lovers and friends.
